Huskisson Bridge spans over the Liverpool to Manchester line and was in need of essential maintenance works. The fire damaged structure significantly reduced the bridges capacity, which provided great difficulty when designing the scaffolding.
2no. cantilever scaffolds were installed from each pavement, each had significant kentledge to stop any overturning. All trackside elements were undertaken on blockades and possession works, and all scaffold was isolated due to the close proximity of the scaffolding to the overhead lines.
The scaffolding was designed in–house and executed perfectly by the site team to provide access to grit blast and paint both parapets.
